Class Overview:
This class is intended to introduce you to the world of 3-D printing and 3D modeling. 3D printing is an easy way to bring your ideas to life, prototype parts and create fun projects.
In this class you will also learn how to operate a Formlabs brand SLA type 3D printer, the Form2. This offers many exciting new material options as well as improved 3D printing accuracy as low as 25 microns!
3D Printing and Machine Training is divided into 3 classes, as well as an assisted training help hour. We suggest you RSVP before all events. After attending 3D Printing 1 you will be authorized to use the FDM style 3D Printers independently and you be able to set off on your 3D printing adventures (we are still here to help if needed of course)!
Be sure to attend 3D printing 2 and 3 to learn better machines and more advanced printing techniques.

18 and up (exceptions can be made for ages 15-17 that are interested, and 12+ are ok if they attend with a parent)

Take a look at the Project Ideas shown below and create one of them during a free assisted practice session or during open hours. This helps you practice the steps learned during class and feel more comfortable using the machine.
After you take this intro class we encourage you to come in for the free assisted help hour. If you can’t make one of these monthly practice sessions we encourage you visit HexLab during open hours to practice and our staff can help answer any questions!
