This class will build on the subjects developed in CNC 1, focusing on more advanced topics in CNC milling, such as-
– More advanced work holding techniques for the mill including custom fixtures and jigs
– The use of precision instruments like Dial Indicators and 1-2-3 blocks for calibrating machines and parts to high accuracy for precision work in metals and other materials
– Understanding tolerance requirements for projects in your designs and others’ and how to work to them (e.g, +/- 0.001″ or 0.01mm)
– Part layout and project planning
– More in depth manual GCode writing and Fusion360 cam workflows
