Summer Camp Session 1: Coding/Programming, Ages 11-14
June 19th – 23rd, 9am to 2pm daily

Overview:

Camp Info: Join us for an exciting week of game design. We will be using Javascript and HTML5 to create a multiplayer web-based game. Along the way we will build up our knowledge of JavaScript and learn about servers and how data flows on the internet.

We will be introduced to: Multiplayer design principles, so we know what code to put on the server, and what code to put on the client. The HTML5 Canvas, which allows us to draw and manipulate graphics. WebSockets, which provides us a fast, two-way communication channel between the server and client. NodeJS, a server side implementation of JavaScript, allowing us to connect multiple players to the same game and much more.

At the end of the camp: you will have a better understanding on how multiplayer games work, and the skills required to create one.

Session 1 Camp Cost:

$395, laptops will be provided for each student!
Lunch will be provided each day.

Prerequisites:

It would be helpful to have some basic understanding of code in general, we will send out a video prior to camp for those not yet familiar with some of these basic concepts.
