July 10th – 14th, 9am to 2pm daily
Camp Price: $465 – includes all lab fees and materials.
Build the world’s smartest Do-Nothing Machine!
Machines can think!
If you tell them how…
All machines are reflections of the people who make them. Arduino — small “microcontrollers” that interface the digital with the physical world — is at the heart of the smart-machine revolution and it can fit in the palm of your hand. This maker camp emphasizes creative and analytical thinking through hands-on experience in various emerging areas of technology helping kids master the present and claim the future. Get your junior ‘maker’ out of the summer heat, and into our week-long beginners electronics camp!
What Will You Learn:
Students will begin to work with basic electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and diodes, then advance to transistors, integrated circuits, and Arduino microcontrollers. They will then get an introduction to basic programming of an Arduino microcontroller, attaching sensors, switches, and servos to interact with the world around us. Students will also learn how 3D-printing and laser cutting can be used to enhance custom electronics projects.
The camp session wraps up with a project build incorporating all the components encountered during the week. Students take home their own project build robot to further explore on their own.
This camp course is an exciting summer camp opportunity for your juniors to learn how to make cool things, and achieve something truly worthwhile. When they’re done, they’ll have a useful skill that they can use for the rest of their lives.
What is Arduino:
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. With the Arduino, anyone can make machines that interact with buttons, LEDs, motors, speakers, cameras, the internet, and more. Arduino can be used as the brains behind almost any electronics project.
Session 2 Camp Cost:
$465, laptops will be provided for each student. This class cost Includes the $70 in materials needed to build your own project during camp!
Tasty lunches will be provided every day.
No past experience needed, just your imagination and desire to build a fun project to take home and show off your skills!
